Governed by Articles 5, 9 and 10 of the Rules on Internal Organization and Operation of the Supreme Court of Cassation
The Collegium is established to act as an advisory body to the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation.
The Collegium consists of: the President of the Court, the Deputy President of the Court, Presidents of the Criminal and Civil Departments and the Department for the Protection of the Right to a Trial within a Reasonable Time, Heads of the Court Practice Office in the Criminal and Civil Departments and in the Department for the Protection of the Right to Trial within a Reasonable Time.
The Collegium is also attended by Head of the Service of the President of the Court, while at the invitation of the President of the Court, the judges, appointed civil servants and other employees may attend as well.
The President of the Court convenes a session of the Collegium, sets the agenda and manages the session.
The Collegium may discuss organizational issues, reports on the work of the courts and court departments, and any other matter significant to the functioning and coordination of the work of the court.
The Collegium adopts conclusions and provides opinions on matters on the agenda.
In the form of a conclusion, the Collegium proposes the execution of specific tasks, sets deadlines, directs and provides a coherent and efficient operation of the court.
